2023 Domestique Carignan
There’s candy fruit aplenty here. Bright red and upfront, it’s raspberries all the way with hints of rosewater and fine varietal spice. In the mouth there’s mouthwatering acidity and delicate fruit aplenty, and very little tannin to speak of. A red wine in the lighter spectrum, that’s ‘very very easy’ to drink - a wine that sits perfectly next to many dishes or simply enjoy solo.

Carignan is perfectly suited to the moderate climate of Langhorne Creek. And as we seek to make more fun, interesting new wines under the Domestique label, Carignan (long a favorite of ours) was an easy choice in grape variety for us to work with.
Everything about this wine leans toward deliciousness! Deliberately light, weighing in at a modest 12.1% alcohol, this wine screams for second and third glasses. We didn’t try to make a blockbuster, just destemmed fruit tipped to a single steel tank open fermenter and away we go. Ferment to dryness in tank to preserve those wonderful fruits and florals, rack off gross lees add a little S02, a light filter and bottle after only 3 months in tank.
